Happy Mother’s Day!

First I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to my mom. She has encouraged and guided me through the crazy things in life. Other times, if the situation warranted, she was hands-off, telling me that I can do it without her. I love that Mom knew when to hover and when to let go. It allowed me to find my way, even when I was scared I’d make the wrong the decision.

Of course, I’ve made mistakes. And Mom would say, dust yourself off and keep moving forward. It’s a phrase that I’ve used for my children. As a mother of five kids, with three living on their own, I believe that I’ve kept Mom’s mothering skills while incorporating my own ideas, finessing it to fit in the complicated world of parenting.

Thank you, Mom, for showing me the way!

Now, I’d like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all mother’s who have and continue to do all that they can for their children. It’s not an easy job to bring a little one into this world and then find a parenting style that works for you. It can be stressful one moment and full of laughter the next. No matter what, we have the best job in the world.
